Solo in Greece Learning to be Alone‍ ‍

“I want to be alone.”  

That was Greta Garbo’s famous line. She later corrected it in an interview, stating that what she really said was "I want to be letalone”, “which is something entirely different,” but I’m not sure it is.

I wanted to be both alone and let alone very much in the Summer of 2022. My mother had just passed, and I was finding it difficult to relate to people, to care about circling back on emails, and about who dated who, or what new restaurant had opened where. I didn’t care. About anything, really. I wanted to scream that from the top of my lungs. Or maybe I just no longer wanted to participate in any of it.

So, I decided to be alone for a little while.

An Art Of Hospitality

‘In the warmth of an equator sun, and in the soft breeze of the sea, sits the famous Potato Head Beach Club. Started 15 years ago it was, and still is, the beach club to go to on the island but it has grown far beyond sunset drinks and pool side parties to become Desa Potato Head (‘desa’ means ‘village’ in Bahasa Indonesian).
